Admissions Process

There are two programs available in the NC State University School Psychology Program a three-year Master’s degree (two years of coursework and one year of internship) without a thesis and a PhD degree program.

Students are admitted once each year; the application deadline is December 1st for admission the following fall. Applications completed by December 1st are guaranteed full review. Applications received after the deadline may be reviewed at the discretion of the program faculty.

Top-rated applicants will be invited to interview on the NC State campus in February. Attendance at Interview Day is highly recommended for those students who are invited; however, phone interviews can be arranged for top-ranked applicants if they are unable to participate in the on-campus interviews.

Applicants will be considered for fall admission only and will be informed of admission decisions by April 15 when possible. Typically, the program receives 50-60 applications and enrolls 3-5 PhD students per year. The same number of master’s degree students is anticipated.

Please contact Dr. Scott Stage with program-specific questions.
