Study Skills

Thank you for your interest in our Study Skills programs!

The NC State Psychoeducational Clinic offers multiple programs aimed at helping students develop better organizational and study habits, including in-person summer study skills camps, an online curriculum, and individualized organizational skills coaching.

1. Registration for our 2023 in-person Study Skills camps is now live! These week-long sessions offer an opportunity for rising middle and high-school students (9th and 10th grade) to develop introductory skills across multiple areas, including organization, planning, reading comprehension, test-taking skills, and note-taking. Dates for our 2023 camps are as follows:

  • June 26 – 30, 2023 (Middle School only)
  • July 10-14, 2023
  • July 17-21, 2023
  • July 24-28, 2023
  • July 31- Aug 4, 2023
  • August 7- 11. 2023

Each camp is one week long and is held for two hours each day, either in the morning (9:30am- 11:30am) or the afternoon (1:00pm- 3:00pm). The cost per student is $225. Please click here for registration information and materials!

2. Study Skills is now also available online! The online course closely follows the curriculum taught during our summer in-person camps but is entirely self-paced, allowing your child to complete lessons at whatever time works best for them. All lessons are asynchronous. Our online program is open to middle and high school students of any age/grade. For more information- including how to register- please click here! A FAQ document is also available to download.

3. Many families supplement the information taught in our introductory Study Skills camps or online program with the more intensive, one-on-one organizational skills tutoring offered through our ACES program. ACES is available to middle, high school, or college-aged students who might benefit from more tailored and individualized support. This coaching program is perfect for students experiencing organizational or executive functioning challenges that are holding them back from reaching their full potential.
