Change of Major outside of Psychology?

Looking to change your major to something outside of Psychology? Please complete the Term Advisement Release Form. This form must be completed every semester until you are accepted into your intended major.

If you are interested in studying abroad, please review the Study Abroad course approval process.

Mathematics Override

If you have been blocked from registering for a math course that you think you should be able to take, complete the Math Course Override Request Form

Physics Override

If you have been blocked from registering for a physics course that you think you should be able to take, complete the PY Course Override Request Form

Statistics Override

If you are unable to enroll for a Statistics course, you may request an override into an ST course.

Language Waiver

If you are a native or heritage speaker of a language other than English, you may be eligible for a language waiver.

To be eligible for the waiver, you must have native proficiency in the following areas: speaking, listening, reading, writing, and culture

To initiate the process, please fill out this form. If the waiver is approved, it waives your WL 201 requirement. Students with the language waiver notation in their degree audit must replace those 3 credits with a free elective.

World Language Enrollment Request Form

The World Languages Department’s Enrollment Request Form is for students who may have the pre-reqs for a language course coming from a community college or other transfer institution, but that course has not yet transferred back. In this form, you will be asked to screenshot or otherwise provide proof of your current enrollment (or completion of) the prerequisite course.

You will also be asked to provide proof of instructor consent IF it is required for the course you wish to enroll in. (In general, most online WL courses require this and most others do not.) The Student Services Manager in the World Languages department will typically enroll you within a few days of receiving the completed form.

World Language Requirements and Explanations

All Psychology majors must reach the WL_ 201 level to meet the World Language Requirement. To complete the required 201-level language class, you might have to take one or more lower-level classes first, based on previous experience with the language and/or the results of the language placement test. Do not delay the language requirement. This requirement should be completed no later than your junior year. The language requirement is explained in detail on this World Language Department website. Use this flowchart to understand your situation and determine next steps. If you are a native, heritage, or fluent speaker of another language, you may qualify to have the World Language requirement waived. Please contact our office regarding this.
